Our Business

Basmati, a family business, was founded by Nazrul and Linda Rahman and officially opened on September 1st, 2007.

Who We Are

The chef, Nazrul Rahman, has extensive experience cooking for some of the most popular and well known Indian restaurants in Ottawa.

After spending five years with the same company, he decided to risk all and open his own business, where he would be able to use the knowledge he acquired,  as well as be bold and create new and exciting dishes.

The administrator, Linda Brunet-Rahman, has studied and trained as a paralegal at La Cité Collégiale in Ottawa. She then went on to work for several successful law firms in the region.

She has always had a passion for exotic cuisine and administrative tasks and this venture offers the right combination for her.
